This is a long-standing and prestigious exchange between the FACh and RAFGSA. The exchange changed from AT to official Defence Engagement (DE) activity in 2019 and with that comes more of an expectation for formal DE. Hopefully, we will be forwarded a formal invite to visit Chile in January 25, but it is not guaranteed, and neither is the format if it does go ahead. As January rapidly approaches, the RAFGSA Chairman requires a list of potential applicants for Andean Condor 2025, but you must meet the following criteria to apply:-

• Be a Regular or FTRS.
• Can secure BFM approval for flights and T&S, this will be circa £4k. You will need a positive relationship with your BFM, or have someone at OF2 level to assist.
• Have attended Sisteron – familiarity with mountain flying is deemed essential.
• Club CFI recommendation.
• Hypoxia trained.

If the exchange does go ahead the individuals will be selected by a panel chaired by Gp Capt Peters but please bear in mind there is an expectation from the UK DA in Chile for representation at a Senior level. Usually, 3-4 places available normally on the last 2 weeks of January.
