RAFGSA

The Royal Air Force Gliding & Soaring Association (RAFGSA) is a voluntary organisation providing structure and central direction to the gliding clubs which form the main membership, plus full time back-up, training and facilities in the form of the RAFGSA Chilterns Centre at RAF Halton. Loose ties are maintained with the Royal Navy Gliding and Soaring Association and the Army Gliding Association.

The RAFGSA president is Air Marshal Sir Tim Jenner CB FRAeS RAF and the association boasts an impressive list or founder members, vice presidents and life members, many of whom hold air rank. However the its aims remain firmly in the promotion of gliding for all and enabling even the youngest recruit to take up this exciting and challenging sport by providing bridges across the normal financial hurdles. Priority is given to those normally employed on the ground.

The RAFGSA AGM is normally held in early summer and includes trophy presentations for the previous year. To join the RAFGSA please contact your local club here.
