Competitions

One of the most exciting aspects of advanced gliding is cross country competition flying, in which gliders race over great distances.

Each year the RAF, Navy and Army gliding associations take part in the Inter Service Gliding Competition as a sporting event to determine the overall best service. Also, throughout the year members take part in numerous civilian gliding competitions – all as representative sport for the RAF.
